Clyde Samuelson Jr. of Columbia, Maine, Tragically Passes Away Following Single-Vehicle Crash in Milbridge

Clyde Samuelson Jr., a resident of Columbia, Maine, has tragically passed away after a fatal single-vehicle crash on Route 1 in Milbridge on Wednesday, May 7th, 2025.

The accident occurred at approximately 2:23 p.m. when Samuelson, aged 79, was driving eastbound in his pickup truck. For reasons still under investigation, the vehicle left the road and entered a ditch.

First responders arrived on the scene and attempted to save Samuelson, but despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Maine State Police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

In a post shared on social media, the local community expressed deep sorrow over Samuelson’s passing, with many offering their condolences and support to the grieving family.

"Sending love and prayers to the family during this difficult time," wrote one friend, while another added, "Such a tragic loss. My heart goes out to them."

As the community mourns, details regarding memorial services will be shared in the coming days.
