Matthew Scott Strickland, 37, of Corbin, Kentucky, tragically passed away on April 27, 2025, leaving his family, friends, and community in mourning. Known for his deep love for his family and his positive presence in the lives of all who knew him, Matthew’s sudden departure has left a void in the hearts of those closest to him.
Matthew is survived by his wife, Mackenzie Strickland, and their three children, Caleb, Andrew, and Sadie, all of Williamsburg, KY. He is also mourned by his parents, Paul and Ginger Strickland, his siblings, Paul Jr., David, and Tabitha, as well as his parents-in-law, Don and Cindy, and his siblings-in-law, Mollie and Shawn Siler.
The community has expressed heartfelt condolences online, with many sharing messages of support and grief. A friend of the family commented, "Matthew’s kindness and love for his family will never be forgotten."
Visitation for Matthew will take place on Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Corbin Arena, located at 500 Arena Dr, Corbin, KY 40701, followed by the funeral service at 5:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Whitley County Colonel Baseball Team to honor Matthew’s memory.
