Arthur William Johnson, Respected Educator and Coach, Passes Away at 84 After Long Illness in Vero Beach, Florida

Arthur William Johnson passed away on Friday, April 10, 2026, at home in Vero Beach, Florida, following a long illness.

Johnson lived 84 years marked by dedication to family, education, and community.

Family members remembered Johnson as a devoted spouse, sibling, parent, and friend whose presence brought warmth and strength to those around them.

Before relocating to Florida, Johnson built a lasting legacy as a business teacher and coach at Niagara Wheatfield High School in New York, where students and athletes benefited from years of guidance and encouragement.

Community members in the Buffalo area continue to honor Johnson’s contributions to youth sports and education.

A fundraiser organizer shared that “any support… is deeply appreciated,” reflecting the community’s effort to ease financial burdens tied to medical care and memorial arrangements.

A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 2:00 PM at St. Helen Catholic Church in Vero Beach.

Family members plan a celebration of life in New York later this summer to honor Johnson’s legacy.
