Charity McGhee Remembered After June 9 Old Keene Mill Road Crash in Springfield That Also Sent Two Passengers to Hospital

Charity McGhee, a 49-year-old Alexandria resident, died on June 9, 2026, after a Toyota Camry left Old Keene Mill Road in Springfield and struck a guardrail near Tiverton Drive.

Fairfax County police received the call around 3:18 p.m. near St. Bernadette Catholic Church, and investigators cited speed as an early factor in the crash.

Two passengers sustained injuries, including one with serious injuries, and responders transported them to a hospital for care.

Two dogs in the vehicle survived and went into the care of Fairfax County Animal Services.

Friends, neighbors, and family remember Charity McGhee as a caring Alexandria parent, daughter, neighbor, and friend whose kindness left a lasting mark.

The crash marked the sixth traffic death on that stretch of Old Keene Mill Road in three years, renewing local calls for safety improvements.
