Chelsea Lumpkin Of Monroe Remembered After Fatal May 23 State Route 10 Crash In Walton County
Chelsea Lumpkin, a 32-year-old Monroe resident, lost their life on Saturday morning, May 23, 2026, after a single-vehicle crash on State Route 10 near Cedar Ridge Road in Walton County.
Georgia State Patrol said Lumpkin drove a black Toyota 4Runner westbound when the SUV left the roadway, traveled onto the north shoulder, and struck a tree.
Officials said Lumpkin was not wearing a seatbelt, and emergency responders pronounced Lumpkin deceased at the scene before transport for medical care.
Authorities reported no passengers in the SUV and no other vehicles involved in the crash.
Investigators with the Georgia State Patrol Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team continue to review what caused the vehicle to leave the road.
As of May 25, 2026, officials had not publicly released findings on speed, weather, roadway conditions, or mechanical issues.
