Cherelle Johnson Remembered With Love as Detroit Family Mourns Sudden Passing and Seeks Support for Funeral Services
Cherelle Johnson passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, after facing months of serious health challenges, leaving family and loved ones in deep sorrow.
According to a fundraiser organized by Cheryl Foxhall in Detroit, MI, Cherelle experienced complications following weight loss surgery in September 2025 and later needed hernia repair as the family worked to support recovery.
In the weeks before the passing, Cherelle lost feeling in both legs and entered the hospital, where health briefly improved with renewed movement and better eating.
Medical staff later transferred Cherelle to Villa at the Park for physical therapy and rehabilitation, where Cherelle was later found unresponsive on March 13.
The family said they continue to seek answers while also facing unexpected funeral expenses because Cherelle did not have life insurance.
Foxhall described Cherelle as a beloved daughter and asked the community for prayers, donations, and kind words as the family prepares to honor Cherelle’s memory.
