Cheyenne Phillips of Chino died after a Mother’s Day afternoon rollover on State Route 60 near Moreno Valley, leaving family, friends, and the local community in deep grief.
Authorities said an Acura MDX traveled at a high rate of speed and passed vehicles on the center median shoulder before it lost control and overturned repeatedly.
Cheyenne, 24, was ejected onto the opposite side of the freeway and was then hit by an oncoming 2024 Tesla.
An infant in the backseat survived with minor injuries, according to the shared report.
The California Highway Patrol’s Accident Investigation Unit continues to review the circumstances of the incident.
