Ivan Carrillo of Pasadena, Texas Remembered After Fatal Pre-Dawn I-20 Crash in Howard County on Sunday Morning
Ivan Carrillo, 30, of Pasadena, Texas, passed away on Sunday morning after a pre-dawn crash on Interstate 20 in Howard County.
The Texas Department of Public Safety reported that Carrillo drove a 2020 Ram 1500 eastbound near mile marker 168 at about 3:50 a.m. when the pickup crossed into the center median, overturned, and collided with a westbound 2026 Freightliner semi-truck.
A 2025 Ford F-250 later sustained damage after striking roadway debris from the crash.
First responders pronounced Carrillo deceased at the scene, and no injuries were reported for the semi-truck driver or the occupants of the Ford F-250.
Loved ones described Carrillo as a young parent whose passing leaves a deep loss for family, friends, and a child who now faces life without Carrillo’s daily presence.
Community members have organized support to help with funeral costs and the child’s needs while authorities continue to review what caused the vehicle to leave its lane.
