Joseph Rodgers Of Hebron Remembered After Fatal State Route 79 Crash Near John Alford Parkway On Thursday Morning

Joseph Rodgers, 57, of Hebron, Ohio, died after a single-vehicle crash on State Route 79 near John Alford Parkway in the Village of Hebron.

The crash happened just before 7:00 a.m. on Thursday morning, and officials reported the case on May 23, 2026.

Police said Rodgers traveled southbound when the vehicle crossed left of center into the northbound lanes and struck a roadside utility pole.

Emergency crews responded quickly, found Rodgers seriously hurt inside the vehicle, and transported Rodgers to Licking Memorial Hospital for urgent care.

Medical staff later pronounced Rodgers dead despite intensive treatment efforts.

Police said no other vehicles were involved, and investigators continue to review why the vehicle left its lane.

Friends and community members remember Rodgers as a familiar presence in the Hebron area.
