Ottawa County Mourns Margaret Lenthe, 78, After a Sudden Two-Vehicle Crash on State Route 2 Near Lakeside Marblehead, OH
Margaret Lenthe, 78, of Lakeside Marblehead, died in a two-vehicle crash on State Route 2 in Ottawa County on the morning of March 21, 2026.
Investigators said the crash happened around 9:42 a.m. near mile marker 122 when Lenthe’s 2005 Ford Focus traveled off the left side of the road and struck the center median.
The impact sent the car into the air and into the eastbound lanes, where a 2021 Toyota Tacoma driven by Raymond Roberts, 56, of Hazel Park, Michigan, then struck it.
Emergency crews responded quickly, but authorities pronounced Lenthe dead at the scene.
Roberts and passenger Todd Prosky suffered minor injuries and did not need hospital transport.
Officials continue to investigate what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway.
The loss has deeply saddened the Ottawa County community, where Lenthe was known as a familiar and steady presence.
Social media messages reflected that grief, with loved ones noting that memorial service details would be shared later and that family members plan to announce obituary and funeral arrangements soon.
