Stevie Wren Sisk Remembered After Rare Medical Journey, Long Hospital Care, and May 9 Passing in Colorado Springs
Stevie Wren Sisk, born September 5, 2024, is being remembered with deep affection after a medically complex journey that began shortly after birth.
Stevie was airlifted to Children’s Hospital in Colorado Springs soon after arrival because of multiple complications, and doctors diagnosed a rare metabolic disorder with a life expectancy of less than one year.
After a 3 month NICU stay, Stevie returned home and shared 19 cherished months with family before developing septic shock at 19 months old.
Stevie was airlifted to Children’s Hospital in Denver, received care there for two weeks, and then transferred back to Children’s Hospital in Colorado Springs.
On the evening of May 9, Stevie died in a family member’s arms after a life marked by courage, care, and love.
A fundraiser created by Mattea Brice and Anne Benfatti has raised $1,965 of a $3,000 goal through 32 donations to honor Stevie’s legacy and support families facing long hospital stays.
Memorial service details will be announced later by family members.
