Tyler Austin Williamson, 28, Remembered After Late Tuesday Motorcycle Collision Near South Maiden Lane In Joplin, Missouri

Tyler Austin Williamson, a 28-year-old resident of La Russell, Missouri, died late Tuesday night, June 9, 2026, after a motorcycle collision in Joplin.

The incident happened shortly before 11 p.m. along the 2400 block of South Maiden Lane, near Walmart Neighborhood Market and Cunningham Park.

Emergency crews from the Joplin Police Department, Joplin Fire Department, and METS Ambulance responded within minutes after reports involving a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle.

First responders worked at the scene, but Jasper County Coroner James Harrison confirmed that Williamson died there and was later transported to the Jasper County Morgue.

The other driver was not hurt, and authorities said no charges had been announced as the Joplin Police Department’s Major Crash Team continued reviewing evidence and witness accounts.

Early findings indicated the motorcycle may have been traveling at a high rate of speed before the collision.

Family members are expected to announce obituary and funeral service details at a later time.
