Abbygail Njoroge Remembered After May 18 Passing Following May 10 Rhode Island Return Crash
Abbygail Njoroge, lovingly known as Abby, passed away in the hospital on May 18, 2026, after a May 10 car crash while returning from an event in Rhode Island with two friends.
Abbygail was 19 years old, the oldest of three siblings, and had recently completed freshman year at UMass Amherst while majoring in public health on the pre-nursing track.
Abbygail aspired to become an OR Nurse, took pride in Kenyan roots, grew up in Methuen, and graduated from Methuen High School.
Friends and family remembered Abbygail for warmth, kindness, church and school involvement, love of fashion and hip hop, and care for a younger brother and sister.
Jimmy Njoroge organized a memorial fund on May 20, 2026, which had raised $2,260 toward a $35K goal through 58 donations.
The fundraiser said a memorial service was planned for May 24 and a funeral for May 26, with further family announcements expected.
