Amanda John, 50, Remembered After Fatal State Road 57 Crash Near Sandyhook Curve In Daviess County
Amanda John, 50, lost life on May 28, 2026, after a single-vehicle crash on State Road 57 near County Road 575 South in the Sandyhook Curve area of Daviess County.
Dispatchers received the call around 11:27 a.m. after reports said a vehicle had hit a guardrail.
Authorities said Amanda John drove a white 2024 Chevrolet Tahoe southbound when the SUV left the west side of the roadway for reasons still under review.
Emergency crews responded quickly, but Amanda John was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office continues to review the circumstances, with multiple agencies assisting at the location.
Family members have been notified, and the Velpen community now mourns a sudden and painful loss.
