Andre Duvall, Young Germantown Resident, Dies Following Confrontation with Montgomery County Police in Montgomery Village, MD

Andre Duvall, 27, tragically passed away on March 24, 2026, following an exchange with Montgomery County police officers in Montgomery Village, Maryland.

Authorities reported that officers were patrolling the Contour Road area in response to community concerns when they observed Duvall approaching another individual in a parking lot.

As Duvall attempted to leave upon noticing a marked police cruiser, he ran across Contour Road into an apartment complex. Police stated that during the encounter, Duvall fired multiple shots at an officer, who returned fire, striking Duvall.

Emergency personnel provided immediate medical attention, transporting Duvall to a hospital, but he ultimately succumbed to his injuries. No officers or bystanders were reported injured during the incident.

The Montgomery County Police Investigative Services Bureau is conducting a thorough investigation, and body-worn camera footage is expected to be released during the week of March 30.

Friends and community members expressed shock and sorrow on social media. One commenter wrote, "My heart goes out to Andre’s family. This is a tragedy for our entire community."
