Antwan Washington Tragically Killed in Chicago Shooting Early Saturday Morning, March 29, 2026

Antwan Washington, 45, was fatally shot early on Saturday morning, March 29, 2026, inside their home on the 5700-block of South May Street in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago. According to Chicago police, a person inside a gray sedan fired shots into the house, striking Washington in the head.

The shooting occurred shortly after 5 a.m., and despite efforts, Washington was declared dead at the scene. Authorities reported that the driver of the sedan fled northbound on May Street following the tragic incident.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed Washington's identity, and Area One detectives are investigating the case. As of now, there have been no additional details regarding the motive or suspects.

Tributes and condolences poured in from friends and family, as many remember Washington for their kindness and presence in the community. In an outpouring of support, one friend wrote, "We will miss you so much, Antwan. You were always there for everyone."
