Clayton Wood, Loving Father and Husband, Tragically Killed in Lincoln Crash, Leaving Family Devastated
Clayton Wood, a 33-year-old father from Chittenango, tragically lost his life on March 19, 2026, following a fatal vehicle crash on Cottons Road in Lincoln.
The accident occurred around 7:40 a.m. as Clayton was driving his 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander eastward on a curve. His vehicle veered off the road, crossed into the opposite lane, and collided with a large tree. Clayton was alone in the car and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office indicated that the cause of the crash was likely due to improper lane usage, and it was noted that Clayton was not wearing a seatbelt at the time.
The devastating loss has left Clayton’s wife, Maizie, and their young son, Brintz, heartbroken. In response, friends and the community launched a GoFundMe campaign titled “Support for Maizie and Brintz After Clayton’s Loss,” raising over $50,000 in a short amount of time.
Clayton will be remembered by those who knew him as a devoted and loving father and husband. The outpouring of sympathy on the GoFundMe page reflects the deep respect and affection the community held for him.
As friends and family gather around Maizie and Brintz during this difficult time, details of the memorial service will be announced soon.
