Cliff Pereira, Beloved Restaurateur and Devoted Family Man, Passes Away Unexpectedly, Leaving Trumbull Community in Mourning

Cliff Pereira, a cherished member of the Trumbull community and co-owner of Il Palio, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 28, 2026.

He was remembered for his warmth, generosity, and the joy he brought to everyone around him. Friends and neighbors praised his infectious laughter and the energy he brought to both his personal and professional life.

As a passionate restaurateur, Cliff helped shape Il Palio into a beloved local institution, welcoming customers as part of an extended family. His wife, Margherita, and colleagues highlighted the profound influence he had on the restaurant’s atmosphere and success.

The community has expressed deep sorrow over his passing. One friend commented, "Cliff always made everyone feel at home, and his absence leaves a huge void in our hearts," reflecting the widespread grief.

In honor of his life, Il Palio will close on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, during funeral observances. A wake will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, followed by a mass and funeral service at 3:00 p.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church, both in Trumbull. Friends, family, and community members are invited to celebrate his life and legacy.

Cliff Pereira’s memory will live on through the countless lives he touched, the laughter he shared, and the love he spread throughout his community.
