Robert Banas, a Supervisory Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Officer, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, just three months shy of his 41st birthday, leaving behind a grieving family and community. Robert was a dedicated professional who began his career with CBP in 2007 as an officer at the Port of John F. Kennedy International Airport. He was promoted to supervisor in 2015 and transferred to the Port of New York/Newark in 2016.

Robert's colleagues and friends remember him as an incredibly knowledgeable and talented officer, always eager to help and a great team player. His untimely death has left a void in the hearts of everyone who knew him, both at work and beyond.
