Dr. McMillan, who passed away on January 7, 2026, was known not only for his technical expertise but for his warm and caring nature. Born and raised in Woodland, Alabama, Dr. McMillan pursued a career in dentistry inspired by his father’s work. After earning his Bachelor of Science from the University of Montevallo, he completed his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry in 2009.
Dr. McMillan went on to practice general dentistry in New Hope, Alabama, before specializing in endodontics, focusing on root canal treatments. He earned a Certificate in Endodontics in 2021 from UAB, where he had also served as chief resident during his final year.
In Chattanooga, Dr. McMillan’s practice, Chattanooga Endodontics, became a place where modern technology met personal care. Known for his gentle approach, he was beloved by his patients, many of whom remember his ability to calm their nerves with a genuine smile and reassuring words.
Outside of his professional life, Dr. McMillan was a devoted husband to his wife, Natalie, and a proud father to their daughters, Kate and Julia. His love for the outdoors, including mountain biking and water sports, reflected his adventurous spirit.
