Elizabeth Dankert, 24, Remembered After Boston Harbor Boat Crash Near Pier 4R
Elizabeth Lizzie Dankert, 24, of Andover, Massachusetts, died early Thursday, May 14, 2026, after a boat struck Pier 4R in Boston Harbor at about 11:20 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13.
Dankert had graduated from Union College in Schenectady, New York, where the student-athlete played soccer and left a lasting mark on the campus community.
After college, Dankert worked in sales at PTC in Boston’s Seaport district, where colleagues remembered a positive teammate who helped others.
Boston Emergency Medical Services members George May and Andrea Albano, with Massport Fire crews, reached the rocky shoreline and helped bring four people from the scene.
Dankert was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital, while two friends, both 23, and a 40-year-old boat operator survived with injuries that officials described as not life-threatening.
Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden said officials continue to review every aspect of the incident.
