Jeffrey A. Knerr Remembered After Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash At Route 93 And U.S. 250 In Tuscarawas County
Jeffrey A. Knerr, 53, died on the night of May 26, 2026, after a two-vehicle crash in Franklin Township, Tuscarawas County, at state Route 93 and U.S. 250.
Authorities said Knerr drove a 2008 Nissan Rogue south on Route 93 and entered U.S. 250 after failing to stop at a posted stop sign.
A 2021 Peterbilt truck towing a commercial trailer was traveling northwest through the intersection at the same time.
The Tuscarawas County Coroner’s Office pronounced Knerr deceased at the scene.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol said Knerr was not wearing a seat belt and noted that a possible impairment factor remains part of the inquiry.
The 39-year-old Newcomerstown driver of the truck wore a seat belt and was not injured.
Local emergency teams assisted while traffic control continued in the area, and troopers said the case remains under investigation.
Memorial and funeral service details will be announced later by family members.
