Julissa Duarte, 20, Remembered After High Point Welfare Check Found Two People Dead Inside Chester Ridge Drive Apartment
Julissa Duarte, 20, was found dead Thursday night inside an apartment at Eastchester Ridge Apartments on Chester Ridge Drive in High Point.
High Point police said officers went to the residence after someone close to Duarte reported several days without contact and growing concern after repeated calls went unanswered.
Officers received no response at the door, looked through a window, saw a person on the floor, and entered the apartment.
Police found Duarte and 22-year-old Kevin Sanchez inside, and both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities said early findings point to a domestic-related case involving the two, who had previously been in a dating relationship.
Neighbors described the discovery as heartbreaking in a normally calm section of High Point.
The North Carolina Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the exact cause and time of death.
Memorial service details and obituary arrangements will be announced later by family members.
