Ronald J Guild, Beloved Korean War Veteran and Honor Flight Participant, Passes Away at 97, Leaving Lasting Legacy of Service and Dedication in Lake Zurich, IL
Ronald J Guild passed away this week at the age of 97, according to a fundraiser organized by family in Lake Zurich, IL.
John Guild, writing as Ronald’s child, shared the news while announcing plans to honor Ronald’s life and military service.
Ronald proudly served as a Korean War veteran and remained deeply connected to fellow service members throughout life.
In 2022, Ronald participated in an Honor Flight to Washington, DC, an experience family described as deeply meaningful and treasured.
To celebrate that legacy, the family plans to place a memorial plaque at American Dunes, a golf course dedicated to veterans.
The fundraiser will also support veteran-focused organizations that provide scholarships and assistance to families of fallen or disabled service members and first responders.
“Ronald J. Guild Memorial Plaque and Veterans Support” invites those moved by Ronald’s story to contribute in lieu of flowers.
The family will announce obituary details and funeral arrangements at a later time.
Ronald’s long life reflected commitment to country, community, and the enduring bonds formed through service.
