Sarah Cowie Remembered After Sudden Passing On May 16 As Family Plans Memorial Scholarship Through Soccer Community
Sarah Cowie passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on May 16, 2026, due to natural causes, leaving family, friends, teammates, coaches, and community members mourning a deeply loved young life.
Heather Cowie created a fundraiser on May 26, 2026, on behalf of Michael Cowie to help with celebration of life costs and a planned scholarship in Sarah’s memory.
By the post’s listing, 77 donations had raised $16,622 of a $40,000 CAD goal.
Sarah began playing soccer with Calgary Rangers Soccer Club and continued with New Frontier Soccer Club, where the family hopes to establish a scholarship for young athletes pursuing post-secondary education.
Sarah also loved dance, taekwondo, anime, collecting rubber ducks, creative art, and dreamed of studying Engineering at university after graduating high school next year.
